Kathryn Potter and Love Couture

“I have had a love of creating clothes from as young as 6 years old when I used to make peg dollies clothes with my Grandmother, raiding her rag bag for fabrics. It was when, aged 10, I turned my favourite doll into a punk rocker complete with red tartan bondage trousers that I realised I had a different approach to the norm!
I eventually moved onto making clothes for real people and graduated from The London College of Fashion with an HND in Clothing in 1988.

The journey that brought me to where I am now began as a designer and pattern cutter for a bridal wear manufacturer, I then moved through to making bespoke, one-off outfits from a small studio in the heart of Norfolk. Next, I worked 7 years for another Norwich bespoke bridal wear company before deciding that there were far too many bows and bells in the bridal industry and that was 1999, when Love was born.

I still get a buzz when I’m creating beautifully made, perfectly fitting outfits and I consider what I have to be a gift. There is no greater pleassure than knowing that people consider a dress from Love Couture a “forever dress” that they love so much that they will never want to throw it away.”
